Sometimes life hands you pomegranates. You get wiser. Sometimes life hands you that icky lemonade. You get stickier. Sometimes life hands you a boatload of people who either enhance your journey in lovely ways or rock the boat off course just for the hell of it. You get an oar and row in your own direction. It happens to all of us. Either way, there's gratitude to be found if you're willing to look. Sometimes the conflicts are indeed blessings in disguise - you just don't know it yet. Sometimes the storm IS the thing you will one day bless while you wait for calmer seas. Maybe not today, but someday. So find some patience and hang on. We all have something to be grateful for one way or another. I found a few things this week. I hope you did too. ~Mimi Lenox~
1. What are you most grateful for when you first wake up in the morning?
That I am still here on this big blue spinning ball.
2. What are you most grateful for when you go to bed at night?
That I am still here on this big blue spinning ball.
Please understand, I am not trying to be facetious... I have lost too many loved ones and I am always aware of how short life really is.
3. Who is the person who has had the most influence on your life?
There is no one person. Life is ever changing and many people come and go leaving their footprints on your heart. But I can say without a doubt that my greatest teachers are those who have caused me the most pain.
4. Is there someone you'd like to thank for something special they did for you but haven't yet? Take the time to do it in this meme.
I would like to thank the one who told me that I "returned to my life with a shield of wisdom and strength and NOT weakness at all." For that , I am deeply grateful.
...and for another who never wavered in her non-judgmental support.
5. Who was your favorite or least favorite teacher? If you could talk to them now, what would you say?
My grade 5 teacher was my favorite because she believed in me. I would love to tell her what wonderful influence she had on me as a child.
My grades 8 & 9 English teachers were my least favorite. One said I couldn't write and the other accused me of plagiarism. I'd tell them both that they were wrong.
6. Do you say grace at mealtime? "Not always," she said as she hung her head in shame.
7. Name one thing you take for granted everyday.
Just one?
the
sun
moon
and stars...
the wind in the trees and the salty sea breeze
and treasured memories of days gone by
8. Have you ever looked back at your life and realized that something you thought was a bad thing was actually a blessing in disguise?
Too many times... but in retrospect I can honestly say that I needed to go through the fire in order to learn some valuable lessons... and they weremine to learn.
9. What are the top five things you are most grateful for in your life?
I'd also like to thank my daughter for the photo above and for placing my words upon it...

Welcome to the 7th launch of BlogBlast For Peace aka Dona Nobis Pacem in the blogosphere. It's inception began in 2006 with one single post and a cry for peace in our world.
A small group of bloggers answered that challenge and it began to spread across the internet in ways that humble me still. It reaches across political lines and religious creeds, abides in corners of unrest and places of hope, gives voice to individual beliefs and promotes tolerance for diversity. It celebrates the genius in each one of us, found in sparkling conversations of passionate pleas for change in the earth. It is that hope for change that motivates us.
It was the Internet's first ever online movement of its kind to invite bloggers to post the same message on the same day. From blog to blog it has moved and continues to grow. We have been amazed to see the power and passion shown each year displayed on pages across the world. We visit each other with our prayers and scribbles, prose and poetry, art and angst, heart and hilarity - and we are moved by it. From one post to thousands of others in fifty countries and almost every state in the United States, something rare and wonderful happens on BlogBlast For Peace day. I am privileged to witness it. I invite you to experience it. It's time. Join us!

She came into my life when I was still a baby blogger. With her courage and compassion she inspired me with words of wisdom and kindness for all mankind... on a blog aptly named A Piece of Peace
Showed me what it was to forgive... myself and let go of the pain
I stole this from her blog in April 2008 and today I have been blessed by a visit from my dear friend who asked for one small request...
To hear this song... and once again spread a little love and peace around...
Spring has flung and fling has sprung. It is time to put your imaginary hat on and step outside the box into the world of fantasy. Spring! Love! Lust! Pheromones! Broken hearts! Dares! Parties! Beaches! Trips! The world of flinging! Ahh....the romance. Ahhh...the migraines.
Webster's defines a spring fling as: a short period of unrestrained pursuit of one's wishes or desires.
I'm still working on my spring fling. Offers are coming in as we speak. Could I get back to you on that?
2. What made your fling so special? OR what made it so bad?
Can I get back to you on that too?
3. Have you ever been flung on vacation?
Be serious... who would flung me? I am unflungable... unflingable... oh you know what I mean.
4. All current serious relationships aside, what would be your fantasy spring fling? Come on. You can tell us. We won't tell your significant other. Maybe.
It's no secret... I'd get lost on his island anytime.
5. How long did your spring fling last? (either the one in your head or the one in your bed)
The one in my head is ongoing... like a soap opera it never ends.
6. Is there a blogger you'd like to fling for spring? Would you tell them?
Invitations are already sent to my top ten. The best offer wins the fling.
7. What is the worst thing that could happen during a spring fling?
The worst thing that could happen would be if my spring sprung fling flung at the wrong moment... I hate it when that happens.
8. What constitutes a proper spring fling? ie: Kinds of activities? How will time be spent? What should spring flingers do? What should they NOT do?
You wrote the rules My Queen...Love! Lust! Pheromones! Broken hearts! Dares! Parties! Beaches! Trips! Anything goes........ :)
9. If your fling lasts through summer is it still a spring fling?
No. It's called a Summerling... and after that a Falling... that's the part where you actually fall for the person. If it continues any longer then it's a Winterling but nobody usually gets that far. By then the fun is sucked right out of it and it's no longer a fling... it's flung... you know what I mean?
