It started as a sinus headache. Not unusual given the weather. I can get a lot of pressure around my eyes and forehead on damp heavy humid days. No biggie. Or so I thought. Three days later the weather hasn't changed AT ALL. Heavy dark brooding clouds... if it would rain or clear off to sunny skies I'd be free of the headache. I've been down this road before so I know the routine.
My usual remedy of applying heat to my face has to be discarded... because by now my eyes are HARD BOILED. Five days in and I'm ready to lose it... I've upgraded to MIGRAINE status. What the hell kind of freaking crazy weather system is this? Now I know I probably should have went to the doctor... but no... not me. I like suffering and pain. Makes me feel powerful. Yeah I'm an idiot.
But eventually the sun did shine. I woke up headache free at last. Woo hoo... I'm gonna get me some vitamin D... and relax on the deck. No sooner had I settled when I hear a click click clicking noise. I open my eyes look around and there are FREAKING FLYING ANTS EVERYWHERE. I took off like a bat out of hell back inside. I'm sure the ANTS have a direct flight path over my house because they landed in the very same place last summer.
Regardless, I am pretty happy because my headache is at long last gone and I can get back to work and no longer feel like the computer is sending laser beams through my head. That was yesterday. And wouldn't you know it... I woke up this morning... with a headache. I look out the window... and they're back. Big black brooding clouds. I am cursed. Cursed I tell you.
Tomorrow's forecast: Sunny skies... I'm expecting a plague of locusts.

Oh how I know all too well about them headaches. But the kids go back to school and peace returns.
WAIT! Sorry...
But I do know all about them headaches. I get them myself. A good bottle of wine, a hot bubble bath and all should be well again for you.
Thanks Hemanth... will do!
Keli - Let's hope not! I have a funny feeling I'd be a lot more afraid of locusts than I am of flying ants! LOL
Thanks Arv... have a good weekend!
Cheers :D
Bindi - no rush... I've been checking on you and I will gladly wait until you feel better.
{{HUGS}}
Steve - duly noted. I will give that a try ;)
Drugs are the answer. I have no idea which ones, but it is usually good advice... ;)
Aw, hope you feel better soon. Migraines suck because they are so debilitating.
"A Plague of locusts"...(laughing)
Thanks for another laugh, my friend, and thanks for the Fourth of July graphic~ It's great.
I hope the skies are bright and sunny tomorrow~ :)))
Luvs Ya,
Ann
Bud - been thinking the same thing ;)

Thanks Annie!
I hope you are having a fantastic weekend :)
my luvs you too!
Hoping your head is back to "normal," so to speak.
I so enjoy your musical picks. They are a great touch to your blog. I think you would have enjoyed some of the Nashville music with us these past few days. Not that I'm a huge country fan, but I like most genres (except you know what) at certain times.
Are you catching any concerts this summer?
Actually Ferd... I do have tickets to see Great Big Sea. They are a Canadian folk-rock band from Newfoundland. The concert is in Gander which is about 3 hours from here but that's okay because my sister lives there.
I'm lucky to get tickets... if you take a look at their tour schedule you'll see that most of it is in the USA...
http://www.greatbigsea.com/tour/
I took a look at their schedule. They seem to zig zag all over!
They will be 45 minutes from me when they play in Ann Arbor on September 10th. Or should I say 10 September? Aren't you guys backwards up there? ; )
So let me know if they are any good. Maybe I'll catch them.
We are doing 3 concerts this summer: Carrie Underwood, Stevie Nicks and Earth, Wind & Fire.
All 3 concerts sound great... but you have no idea how envious I am that you will see Stevie Nicks.. OMG... that would be dream come true for me.
As for GBS.. I can already tell you they are fantastic. You have never seen such energy. You'll definitely come away with a taste of Newfoundland.
You have to BLOG Stevie Nicks!!!
NOTHING is worse than a Migraine.
I feel your pain.
xxoo
Happy 4th Of July Weekend to you too. I hope you're having fun & feeling better.
Sorry to hear you've been under the weather. Hopefully, the weather has cleared off and you're feeling better now.
By the way, I did light that sparkler I promised. :D
Dawn - I am also a migraine sufferer. I had to learn my triggers: spicy food, no food, raw onions, MSG, red wine, no sleep, salt, perfumes and STRESS. When I catch mine early enough I take my prescription and I don't end up in the ER. If I don't, they can ruin an entire week. I feel your pain.
Take care and wear shades even inside. It helps.
Feel better.
Mimi
