Universal truths in all of these statements, Dawn. My own belief system tells me that this life is a journey and all of our experiences and relationships shape us into who we eventually become. And all of that is to prepare us for what comes next.
Although it hurts when I lose someone close to me, I cling to the belief that what comes in the next life is much better than what we have now. That makes the pain a little easier to bear.
Jessica - yes I believe we are all in this together...
Meleah - I hate it when people blame their problems on how they were raised... it's always a choice.
Lee - Couldn't have said it better myself. I look back and realize that everything that has ever happened to me has somehow prepared me for the moment I'm in right now.
Michele they are inspirational aren't they? Makes a person think!
It does seem to take forever to become who you want to be...although I guess that's part of the journey.
I think we're getting closer to becoming who and what we were meant or want to be everyday... and that the words of those taken too soon become a part of us and part of the reason we become ourselves.
Thought provoking and comforting post, because it's true what Jessica said, it's nice to know that we're not alone.
The human spirit can endure many things, but I believe loneliness is by far the hardest.
Or like you said, the feeling that you may not ever become what you are striving to be...but I believe you will...we all will- with the help of what remains in the words and memories of those who have gone before us- and almighty God.
Ann you are so right. It does seem to take forever to become who you want to be... by the time I completely figure it out... I'll be too old to care. And yes Jessica had a point... we are in this together. ((HUGS))
Bud that's so sweet of you. I'm fine... just having a moment. Seem to be having a lot of them lately... must be getting old :)
Most of the worlds' great things were born of adversity and hardship; because these roadblocks encourage us to dream, imagine and believe. ~Ann Clemmons~

I stand by the last one 100%! At this rate, it's going to take me forever to become the person I want to be! And I don't even know what that IS yet!
Those are really profound sayings. Did you write those if not I would love to know the author. The pictures are really cute as well.
These pics showed up in my email.. I can't take credit for the writing... as much as I'd love to :)
They are great. Thanks for sharing.
